I like bacon, if I buy it at the store then I try to be healthy-ish and get turkey bacon...in general I view bacon as "good".
However....
If I get all girled up and go out, I think Mr. Bacon-breath would not be a turn-on, and what if he spilled his Bacontini on me, I'd smell like a breakfast diner all night and who knows what sort that attracts (perhaps binge drinking frat boys or picture me screaming and running down a NYC subway platform with a trail of rats behind me)...The only beverage I can imagine it might be good in would be a Bloody Mary, with breakfast/brunch, when alcohol and bacon breath might possibly be acceptable...but then I'd just have the real thing in all its crispy, crunchy, salty, smoky goodness...why liquify it?
Shandana, I'm with you. Bacon vodka = Bad idea.

Give it up. Even after the bacon craze, which is on the wane, bacon will still be one of this country's favorite foods. Are you really looking forward to the organ meat craze that much, anyway?

Also, bacon is pork belly. The pork belly craze happened when people realized that they could eat huge pieces of bacon that have been cooked with care. It's the same craze. Men don't work themselves red in the face yelling about buying and selling pork bellies for no goddamn reason.

But I agree that the bacon vodka, perfumes, neckties, tepees, etc. were a bad idea.

from what we read in the papers there was a guy called Marc who was just a guest there at the Hotel Le Dale, and he was there too while Ylenia was there, but it doesn't seem the 2 knew each other. But as he had seen the girl his help was asked to find her in he French Quarters. The last place she was before New Orleans was Belize; she stayed there from October till the end of December, then she took a bus to Houston, and then another one to New Orleans. In Belize she was writing a book...

this case has always intrigued me since i met this "boyfriend" and was a fan of her grandfather's.

i can't remember his name. it might have been marc. i keep thinking michael for some reason. anyway, he said they were living together in mexico at the time, before she ventured to new orleans and that he was planning on proposing to her once he got there. said he checked into the hotel late one day and told the reception desk to notify him when she came back ( he was making the room romantic for her) and he fell asleep waiting and only realized she never came back when he woke up the next morning.

he was staying at the youth hostel at the time to get away from the television crews that were after him. he spoke to john walsh of america's most wanted. i can't find any video of it although the case was on the show.

still, an enthralling but sad story...

Ylenia's story isn't clear; a friend of mine told me that apparently Marc,a guy who was staying at Le Dale hotel, was given some money by Albano, Ylenia's father, to go and look for her in Florida; and by what I understood he did find her there, she was in Saint Augustine, sitting next to a guy called CHET; so marc phoned Romina and told her that all was well, that he had found her missing daughter. Marc added that he saw Ylenia again after, last time he met her was at Gatwick airport in december 1996; and Chet was still there After that the family flew back to italy.
Marc said he was totally shocked when he found out years later on the internet that the girl was considered missing; because he says he found her alive!
